THE PERIODIC TABLE.
The periodic table here shows the elements in order of there proton number, its layout shows elements with similar properties in columns, we call these columns groups (roman numerals are often used for these) we call the rows periods, each period represents another full shell of electrons, elements in each group have the same number of electrons in it's outer shell this is why thay have similar properties this is the reason thay have been layed out in this way.
